The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 for a great Day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
