The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
