Think not that Allah doth not heed the deeds of those who do wrong. He but giveth them respite against a Day when the eyes will fixedly stare in horror,- 42 They will hurry on in fright, their heads lifted up, their gaze directed forward, their minds utterly void. 43 (O Muhammad), warn mankind of the Day when a severe chastisement shall overtake them, and the wrong-doers will say: "Our Lord, grant us respite for a short while; we shall respond to Your call and will follow Your Messengers." (But they will be clearly told): "Are you not the same who swore earlier that they shall never suffer decline?" 44 "And you dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We had dealt with them. And We put forth (many) parables for you." 45 And of a surety they plotted their plot, and with Allah was their plot, though their plot was such as to remove thereby mountains. 46 So think not that Allah will fail to keep His Promise to His Messengers. Certainly, Allah is All-Mighty, - All-Able of Retribution. 47 On the Day when the earth is changed into other than the earth and the heavens, all shall come before Allah, the One, the Conqueror. 48 On that Day you shall see the guilty bound in chains, 49 their garments shall be black as if made out of pitch, and flames of the Fire shall cover their faces 50 This is how God will recompense each soul for its deeds. God's reckoning is swift. 51 This is a message for mankind that they may take a warning from it, and may know that He is the one and only God, and that men of wisdom may reflect. 52
