The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
