The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
