Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur'an. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
