So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
