In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 A Book sent down to thee -- so let there be no impediment in thy breast because of it -- to warn thereby, and as a reminder to believers: 2 (Saying): Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow no protecting friends beside Him. Little do ye recollect! 3 How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest. 4 And when Our punishment overtook them they had nothing to say except crying out: "We have indeed been sinners." 5 Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles; 6 Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. 7 And on that Day, the weighing will truly be done; so those whose scales prove heavy are the successful. 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
