They ask you about the Spirit. Say, "The Spirit comes by the command of my Lord. You have been given very little knowledge. 85 And if We listed, We could surely take away that which We have revealed unto thee; then thou wilt not find in respect thereof against Us as trustee. 86 Except as a Mercy from your Lord. Verily! His Grace unto you (O Muhammad SAW) is ever great. 87 Say: "If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another." 88 And certainly We have explained for men in this Quran every kind of similitude, but most men do not consent to aught but denying. 89 And they say, "We will not believe you until you break open for us from the ground a spring. 90 or till thou possessest a garden of plants and vines, and thou makest rivers to gush forth abundantly all amongst it, 91 or cause the sky to fall on us in pieces as you claimed, or bring Allah and the angels before us, face to face; 92 "Or thou have a house adorned with gold, or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- a messenger?" 93
