SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 "From which you turn away! 68 I had no knowledge of the Exalted Assembly when they argued [against the creation of man]: 69 This alone is revealed to me, I am only a clear warner' 70 When your Lord told the angels, "I will create a mortal out of clay, 71 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance to him. 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 Not so lblis. He grew stiffnecked and became of the infidels. 74 Said He, 'Iblis, what prevented thee to bow thyself before that I created with My own hands? Hast thou waxed proud, or art thou of the lofty ones?' 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 "Begone! You are accursed: 77 and My curse shall remain upon you till the Day of Resurrection.” 78 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected." 79 He said: “You are of those who have been granted respite 80 “Until the time of the known day.” 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 Save Thy bondmen among them Sincere. 83 Said He, 'This is the truth, and the truth I say; 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 Say: "I do not ask any compensation of you for it, nor am I a specious pretender. 86 It, (the Quran), is nothing but a reminder to you from the Lord of the Universe. 87 and you shall surely know its tiding after a while.' 88
