And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
