Al-Najm 3 of 3
So did you observe him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
