The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
