In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
