Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
