Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
