The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily We created man from a sperm yoked (to the ovum) to bring out his real substance, then gave him hearing and sight. 2 We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 [Now,] behold, for those who deny the truth We have readied chains and shackles, and a blazing flame 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah drink, making it gush forth abundantly, 6 These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide; 7 And they feed with food, for love of Him, the needy, and the orphan and the captive. 8 (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; 9 for we fear from our Lord a frowning day, inauspicious. 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. 12 They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. 13 near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, 14 Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. 15 and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, 16 And they will be given to drink there a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabil (ginger, etc.), 17 therein a fountain whose name is called Salsabil. 18 ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. 19 wherever you look, you will see bliss and a great kingdom: 20 Upon them there will be garments of green silk, rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure beverage to drink. 21 It will be said to them, “This is your reward – indeed your efforts have been appreciated.” 22

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
