The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
