Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
