We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 and indeed, We chose them knowingly above all other people, 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
