Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 Who created the seven skies one above the other. Do you see any disproportion in the creations of Ar-Rahman? Turn your eyes again. Do you see any fissures? 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 for, suffering in hell awaits all who are [thus] bent on blaspheming against their Sustainer: and how vile a journey's end! 6 When they are thrown into hell, they will hear its roaring while it boils. 7 and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?'; 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.' 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
