The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And the breath of morning 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
