And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals, etc.), will be an evil final return (Fire), 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: 'Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here? 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
