Whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your deeds; yet He forgives much. 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains. 32 He could stop the wind if He pleased, then they would be stranded on its surface. Surely there are signs in this for every one who perseveres and is grateful. 33 Or He wrecks them for what they have earned; and He pardons much; 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 Whatever ye are given (here) is (but) a convenience of this life: but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting: (it is) for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord: 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 The retribution of evil is the equal of evil (done); yet those who forgive and rehabilitate will be rewarded by God. Verily He does not like those who do wrong. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 blame attaches but to those who oppress [other] people and behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right: for them there is grievous suffering in store! 42 To exercise patience and forgive (the wrong done to one) is the proof of genuine determination. 43
