The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
