Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
