Moses said: "O my Lord, enlarge my breast, 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 Appoint a deputy (for me) from my own people. 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 And let him share my task 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 and remember you often. 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 The Lord said, "Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)".. 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He said, “Do not fear – I am with you, All Hearing and All Seeing.” 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said, 'Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided it.' 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
