The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 who observe Zakah; 4 who guard their privates, 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
