In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
