Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guidance and mercy for the righteous 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 This is the Creation of Allah. Now show me that which those (ye worship) beside Him have created. Nay, but the wrong-doers are in error manifest! 11
