The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
