The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He Who sent down the Furqan upon His servant that he may be a warner to the nations; 1 Sovereign of the heavens and the earth, who has begotten no children and who has no partner in His sovereignty, it is He who has created all things and measured them out precisely. 2 Yet they choose apart from Him gods who have not created any thing and have themselves been created, who possess no power over their loss or gain, or their death or life or being raised to life again. 3 Those who disbelieve say: This is naught but a lie that he hath invented, and other folk have helped him with it, so that they have produced a slander and a lie. 4 And they say: fables of the ancients which he hath had written down, so they are dictated unto him, morning and evening. 5 Say: He has revealed it Who knows the secret in the heavens and the earth; surely He is ever Forgiving, Merciful. 6 And they say: what aileth this apostle, he eateth food and walketh about the market-places; wherefore is not an angel sent down unto him, so that he may be along with him a warner? 7 Or a treasure should have been given to him, or he should have had an orchard from which he could eat." And these wicked people say: "You only follow a man ensorcelled." 8 See how they coin similitudes for you, so they have gone astray, and they cannot find a (Right) Path. 9
