Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 He has given you cattle, children, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 This is but a fable of the men of old, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 In response they denied him – We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
