The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
