Light (Al-Noor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ [This is] a surah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember. 1 The adulteress and the adulterer – punish each one of them with a hundred lashes; and may you not have pity on them in the religion to Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day; and a group of believers must witness their punishment. 2 Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry and but a woman similarly guilty, or an Unbeliever: nor let any but such a man or an Unbeliever marry such a woman: to the Believers such a thing is forbidden. 3 And those who accuse honourable women but bring not four witnesses, scourge them (with) eighty stripes and never (afterward) accept their testimony - They indeed are evil-doers - 4 Except those who repent after this and act aright, for surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 5 And as for those who accuse their wives and there are not for them witnesses except themselves, the testimony of one of them shall be four testimonies by Allah: that verily he is of the truth-tellers 6 And the fifth (oath) (should be) that they solemnly invoke the curse of Allah on themselves if they tell a lie. 7 And it shall avert the punishment from her if she bear witness before Allah four times that the thing he saith is indeed false, 8 And the fifth that Allah's wrath be upon her if he is of the truthtellers. 9 If it were not for the bounty of Allah to you and His Mercy, and that Allah turns, and is the Wise, 10
