The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
