Abraham was, certainly, an obedient and upright person. He was not a pagan. 120 Grateful for His blessings; Allah chose him and guided him to the Straight Path. 121 We bestowed good upon him in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall certainly be among the righteous. 122 Then, We revealed to you: 'Follow the Creed of Abraham, he of pure faith, he was not among the idolaters' 123 As for the Sabbath, it was made incumbent only on those who differed about its laws. Certainly your Lord will judge on the Day of Resurrection between them regarding the matters they disputed. 124 Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance. 125 If ye punish, then punish with the like of that wherewith ye were afflicted. But if ye endure patiently, verily it is better for the patient. 126 And do thou be patient, for thy patience is but from Allah; nor grieve over them: and distress not thyself because of their plots. 127 Allah is with the cautious and those who do good. 128
