The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
