Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 excusing or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
