(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
