Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a high garden 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
