Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said: O my people! verily I am unto you a warner manifest. 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 "'And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out), 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
