Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 we are they that give glory. 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
