Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
