۞ Say, [God says] "O My servants, who have committed excesses against their own souls, do not despair of God's mercy, for God surely forgives all sins. He is truly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 53 And return to your Lord time after time and submit to Him before there comes to you the punishment, then you shall not be helped. 54 Follow the best of what has been sent down from your Lord before the punishment overtakes you suddenly, while you are unaware' 55 Lest a person should say: “Alas for me for neglecting my duty towards Allah and for being among those that scoffed”; 56 Or (lest) he should say: "If only Allah had guided me, I should indeed have been among the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2)." 57 Or, lest when it sees the punishment should say: 'O that I might return, and be among those that did good' 58 It will be said to him, “Surely yes, why not?* My signs did come to you, so you denied them and you were haughty and you were a disbeliever.” (They will be mocked at.) 59 And upon the Day of Resurrection thou shalt see those who lied against God, their faces blackened; is there not in Gehenna a lodging for those that are proud? 60 God would rescue those who fear Him (and guide them) to places of safety. Neither will evil touch them nor regret. 61 God is the Creator and Guardian of all things. 62 His are the keys of the heavens and the earth, and they who disbelieve the revelations of Allah - such are they who are the losers. 63
