And indeed We have created man and We know what his soul instils in him; and We are nearer to him than the hearts artery. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 "Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told), 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 and an idol worshipper. Throw him into severe torment". 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." 29
