Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for an appointed time? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
