The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
