The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
