And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
